Slate and graphite are yarn-dyed before weaving, which costs more than piece-dyeing and is why this cover is priced above the pale shades. The upside is that the colour goes all the way through the fibre and fades evenly rather than in patches.
The downside is honest: dark linen picks up lint from wool throws, socks and pets, and it is visible. If that would annoy you, buy the oat.
